 Re-Sales
There are some compelling reasons for buying a re-sale. The house is built - you can see exactly what you are getting. Completion can be quicker and done in a matter of a couple to a few weeks. You will not be living on a building site for the first few months. Re-sales are often slightly cheaper. These are all good reasons for buying a re-sale.
The negative side is that you might need to spend some money on refurbishment. Unless the house is in first class order it could require redecorating, new carpets, some replacement furniture, etc. These items could soon add up and this has to be considered. Furthermore the appliances will not be under warranty. A rental home can have a fairly hard life. Even with a first class re-sale your additional costs are likely to come sooner rather than later.
The Choice is Still Yours
When meeting up with one of our Realtors, it is a good idea to at least have decided on whether you want to purchase a new and/or resale home. The main deciding factor for most people when making a decision is the price of the home. This may help you make a decision on whether to buy a new home or a resale home. If your price range is marginal between a resale and a new home, it is recommended that you purchase a new home.
